Set in the beautiful rolling hills east of Wellsford a stay at Wisdome Cottage will relax and refresh you. Just over an hour north of Auckland, yet a world away in peace and tranquility, the cottage is a faithful replica of a 17th century Devon farmhouse. Features include high beamed ceilings, wooden floors, open fire and handcrafted joinery made from recycled native timber.
Nestled in country gardens, the house is tucked into the fold of the hill overlooking the Waiteitei stream.
Unwind in the cosy rustic ambiance whatever the season. Grab a book to read in the garden, enjoy a favourite board game in front of the fire, or wander amongst our sheep.
A short country drive brings you to sensational, secluded beaches or the award winning vineyards of the Matakana wine country.
Accommodation is offered in two generous queen-sized rooms; one with ensuite, one with private bathroom along the hall. Tariff $140 per room includes a farmers' cooked breakfast that can be served on your own balcony overlooking the stream.
Evening meals, featuring seasonal and fresh home grown produce and local wines by arrangement at $30/head.

Explore the rock pools and lagoon or walk some of the nine kilometres of golden sand at Pakiri and Te Arai beaches, go horeback riding or surfing. Taste award winning wines at some of the many vineyards of the Matakana wine country. Go snorkelling in the clear waters of Goat Island marine reserve or take the glass bottom boat and see some of New Zealand's colourful native marine species. Take the ferry to historic Kawau or one of the other nearby Islands. Or just relax at Wisdome cottage, kayak the meandering Waititi stream or cycle along country roads.
