10 minutes to Waimarama, 25 minutes to Havelock North

                                       

Situated on a working farm, Wairunga cottages are 30 minutes from Havelock North in the hills overlooking Bare Island and Waimarama. Walk for a minute through native bush, past the grotto dance floor and you have arrived at the golf course (9 hole par 35). There are two cottages, the bigger one having a dining room, lounge and kitchen with three bedrooms and bathrooms, the smaller one three bedrooms, two ensuites and one adjacent. The Musterer`s Cottage and adjacent Shearers Quarters make up the accommodation. There are six bedrooms altogether, four with ensuites and two with separate bathrooms, comfortably sleeping 12. The walk starts at the main house and makes its way through native bush remnants and over farmland up to a 520 metre summit with panoramic views taking in the Pacific Ocean, north to Napier and west across the layered landscape to the ranges. The nine hole par 35 golf course offers a varied and challenging game over rolling terrain, through native trees and reserves. It is a country course and sheep do their part in maintaining the fairways. There are 2 par 5`s, 3 par 3`s and 4 par 4`s. Golf clubs can be hired. The season runs from November till the end of March. Green fees are $10/nine holes or $12 for 18.
